Hi, I'm Jessie!
I've been creating botanical art for over a decade. I've taught hundreds of students in person, around Australia and online from all over the world.
I still remember painting my first pear and afterwards, never looking at a pear the same way again. This is still my favourite thing about botanical art - how we connect with a plant or flower after truly observing it!

When I was starting out though, it felt like I was making it up with a lot of guess work. I struggled with self-doubt and to prioritise making the art I knew I wanted to. But through practice and persistence I gradually improved & with it so did my confidence.

I have absolutely zero art experience, will I be able to do it?
Everyone has to start somewhere, so yes you absolutely can! I show you everything, step by step and there for you when you need help. Just remember to be kind on yourself, allow yourself to make mistakes and don't expect masterpieces first go. Your confidence and skills will grow each time you practice.
I'm nervous to share my work, do I have to?
I absolutely understand this, it can be nerve racking sharing your work, but I promise you that the more you do it, the easier it gets! Only share what you feel comfortable sharing.
What if I can't keep up with the 10 Week timeline?
I understand everyone learns at different paces and that, sometimes, life gets in the way. If you fall behind, just try to catch up as best you can. If you are still behind at the end of the 10 weeks there are continuation options.
I have some experience already, will I get much out of this foundations course?
​It never hurts to revisit to the foundations, especially if there's still some things you feel like you don't quite understand. I also find that I learn something different in every subject, so if you haven't painted these subjects then yes, you'll still get a lot out of it!
How long do I have access to the learning videos?
Access to the videos with support - Live Zoom Session, Online Community and Email Feedback - is only for during the 10 weeks.
You'll have access to the video content only is for 12 months! (From your course start date). So you can go back and revisit the videos afterwards.
Can I use my cheap art materials?
The quality of your art materials does have an impact on the result, however, just get whatever is in your budget - the most important thing is that you're doing the work and practicing!

When are the live Zoom Q&A Sessions?
Every Tuesday evening 6-7pm Melbourne, Australia time.
Are the Live Q&A sessions recorded?
No these are not recorded. If you miss one and have any questions in between email feedback, you can ask your questions in the online community!
Is this whole course online?
Yes the full course is an online course with no in-person classes. The Zoom Sessions are the only live component.
Do I have to attend every Zoom session?
No you don't. I encourage you to as you'll get the most out of the course this way, but they are intended as casual 'drop in' sessions.
Can I rewatch the learning videos?
Absolutely! You can hit play, pause and rewind whenever suits you. Plus, you and can even speed up or slow down the videos!
What if I don't finish the work within the 10 weeks?
There are continuation options if you want to continue with support, otherwise you have access to just the learning videos for 12 months, from the start of the course, if you want to selff-learn withouth support..
Anyone can learn to draw and paint!
All you need is a willingness to try, a clear process to follow & support you can trust.
