Do you..

Dream of painting the beautiful plants in your garden but doubt you can? (Guess what - you can!)

Love botanical art but aren’t sure where to start in creating your own?

Struggle to find the time and now it's been months without a paint brush in your hand?

015_CatBlack2025_JessieFord_WEB.jpg

Hi, I'm Jessie!

For over a decade I've specialised in botanical art - winning two awards, taught hundreds of students around the globe online and in person at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne - now I'm so excited spread my love of botanical art through this course.

It's super common to feel stuck when you're getting started:

- Perhaps you've tried, but feel overwhelmed with watercolour.

- Maybe you hesitate to start because you worry the result won't look good or you were told you weren't 'good' at art in school?

- Or you've begun artworks, only to loose motivation and that artwork is still sitting in a drawer, yet to be finished 'one day'.

If any of this is you - don't worry - it's been me too!!

When I started out, it felt like I was fumbling through my paintings with a lot of guess work. I struggled with self-doubt, procrastination and found myself starting projects but never finishing them.

Over the years, little by little, I've developed and honed my Four Step Process that helps makes the painting pathway clear, learnt small mindset shifts to help overcome self doubt and found little tips and tricks with watercolour so now I feel capable of painting any subject I set my mind to.

This is why I've created this course - to be the creative boost, positive encouragement and clear structure that will have you creating artworks you love and without the self-doubt! You won't be learning alone, I'll be right there with you through live Zoom sessions, email feedback and in our supportive online community.

I LOVE how we get to celebrate and connect with nature through creating botanical art, and I'm so excited for more people to experience this too.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I have absolutely zero art experience, will I be able to do it?
Everyone has to start somewhere, so yes you absolutely can! I show you everything, step by step and there for you when you need help. Just remember to be kind on yourself, allow yourself to make mistakes and don't expect masterpieces first go. Your confidence and skills will grow each time you practice.
  • I have some experience already, will I get much out of this foundations course?
It never hurts to revisit to the foundations, especially if there's still some things you feel like you don't quite understand. I also find that I learn something different in every subject, so if you haven't painted these subjects then yes, you'll still get a lot out of it!

No these are not recorded. If you miss one and have any questions in between email feedback, you can ask your questions in the online community!
