In this two-day workshop Jessie will guide you through her step-by-step process to create your own botanical painting of wattle, working from a photograph. The species of wattle will depend on availibilty in the lead up to the workshop.
Over the two days you will be shown how to master important watercolour techniques, specifically for use on botanicals, while learning the process of layering watercolours to achieve a realistic painting.
What will I learn?
• How to create an outline drawing from a photograph
• Basic colour theory
• Matching and mixing the correct colour
• Using masking fluid
• Watercolour techniques including wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry and dry brush
• How to avoid muddy watercolour paintings
